About me
Hi, I’m Himani.
(BSc, MSc, MBPsS, PGDip)
I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I have been in the field of mental health for the past 10 years.
Feelings, and their expression, are at the heart of human health. Feelings and emotions are energies. Energy can never be destroyed, only transformed. Therein, by not verbalising inner feelings, it does not disappear, instead gets transformed into something else where it can find expression. This includes your body, and the associated physical health problems that one faces. Your body is speaking to you and wants to be heard.
A safe and confidential space is provided to explore your inner world and release those blocked energies through the appropriate channels; with ‘talking therapy’. As our unconscious world turns conscious, we become more self-aware, improving our external world.
With my international background, and having worked in various countries, I appreciate diversity and welcome clients from all cultures.
I am an accredited member of the Belgian Psychotherapy Association (ABP-BVP) and a registered working member of Vlaamse Vereniging voor Psychoanalytische Therapie (VVPT). I am also a registered member of UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a professional member of The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC). I adhere to the professional Codes of Ethics and conduct set out by my Professional Standards Authority Register. Additionally, I am a graduate member of The British Psychological Society (BPS) and a Life member of World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH). I have been awarded the World Council for Psychotherapy certificate (WCPC). In order to enhance my practice further, I participate in regular continuing professional development (CPD).
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me,
an invincible summer. And that makes me happy.
For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me,
there’s something stronger
– something better, pushing right back.~ Albert Camus
